Cookie Policy
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They allow the site to remember certain information about your session - such as whether you are logged in.
Cookies cannot run code or carry viruses. They are simply data stored in your browser that a server can read on subsequent requests.
2. Cookies We Use
UmitPath uses a single strictly necessary cookie to operate the platform.
- Session cookie - keeps you logged in while you browse the platform. It expires when you close your browser or after 30 days of inactivity. No personal data is stored inside the cookie itself - only an anonymous session token.
3. What We Don't Use
We do not use any of the following:
- Advertising or tracking cookies from any third-party network.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar).
- Social media pixels (Meta Pixel, Twitter Pixel, etc.).
- Fingerprinting or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Our server logs page visits anonymously (IP address is not stored), but this is not done through cookies.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Stripe to process payments. When you visit a payment page, Stripe may set its own cookies to prevent fraud and ensure the security of the transaction. These cookies are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
No other third-party services with cookie access are used on UmitPath.
5. Managing Cookies
You can view, block, or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Instructions for common browsers:
- Chrome - Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox - Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari - Settings → Safari → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge - Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.
Deleting the UmitPath session cookie will log you out. Blocking it will prevent you from logging in.
6. Contact
For any questions about how we use cookies, contact us at privacy@umitpath.org. We respond within 5 business days.
