1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using UmitPath ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
These terms apply to all users regardless of role: Applicants, Students, Benefactors, and Moderators.
2. Eligibility & Roles
You must be at least 13 years old to use UmitPath. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement.
- Applicant - default role assigned upon registration. Can browse free content.
- Student - assigned after a portfolio is submitted and approved by a moderator.
- Benefactor - assigned after any donation or premium subscription payment.
3. User Content & Portfolios
You retain ownership of all content you submit to UmitPath. By publishing a portfolio, you grant UmitPath a non-exclusive licence to display that content to registered users of the Platform.
You may unpublish or delete your portfolio at any time. Deletion is permanent and removes your content from all user-facing pages within 24 hours.
Portfolios are reviewed by a human moderator before publication. We verify that content is genuine and does not violate these terms.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
Premium access costs $2 per year (charged in the local currency equivalent) and unlocks all portfolio fields. Payment is processed by our payment provider - Freedom Bank. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
To cancel, go to Settings → Subscription. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.
5. Donations
Donations above the $2 subscription amount are voluntary contributions to UmitPath Foundation's social initiatives. Donations are non-refundable and are publicly reported in our annual transparency report.
Benefactors who contribute $2 or more may display the Benefactor badge on their profile. This is optional and can be toggled in profile settings.
6. Moderation & Prohibited Content
UmitPath moderators review all portfolio submissions and may remove content that violates these terms.
- Fabricated or misleading academic records, test scores, or admission letters.
- Content that identifies or targets individuals without their consent.
- Spam, promotional material, or links to external services.
Repeated violations may result in account suspension. Appeals can be submitted to moderation@umitpath.org.
7. Limitation of Liability
UmitPath is provided "as is". We make no guarantees about uptime, completeness of portfolio data, or admission outcomes. UmitPath Foundation is not liable for decisions made based on content viewed on the Platform.
Our total liability to any user is limited to the amount paid for the current subscription period.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms as the Platform evolves. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before any material changes take effect.
Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
