UmitPath Foundation ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our platform. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the data needed to operate the platform and improve the experience for students.

• Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a hashed value).
• Portfolio content: universities, majors, GPA, scholarship level, essays, and other fields you choose to publish.
• Usage data: pages visited, search queries, and events clicked - collected anonymously via server logs.
• Payment data: processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to operate the platform, send transactional emails (password resets, receipts), and improve search relevance and portfolio recommendations.

We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, sell insights to third parties, or train external AI models without your explicit consent.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with service providers who are necessary to operate UmitPath - hosting (Hetzner), payments (Stripe), and transactional email (Postmark). Each provider is bound by a data processing agreement.

We will disclose data if required by law, but we will notify users when legally permitted to do so.

5. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics scripts.

You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will log you out of your account.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time.

• Access: Download all data associated with your account from your profile settings.
• Correction: Edit any information directly in your account at any time.
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data permanently from settings, or email us at privacy@umitpath.org.
